Description |
This course is intended for new graduate nurses or those nurses that need a refresher course. This course will combine the principles and practice of both intravenous therapy and phlebotomy. The learner will be able to discuss patient conditions that warrant Intravenous therapy, monitoring for complications and documentation. There will also be a review of anatomy, site selection, proper equipment, technique, and best practices. During the skills portion of the program, the learner will have an opportunity to identify appropriate IV sites and demonstrate proper insertion techniques.
