Objectives
• Discuss the action potential of the cardiac cell.
• Discuss the cardiac conduction system.
• Identify and measure each waveform and interval in the cardiac cycle.
• Discuss methods to calculate heart rate.
• Discuss 3 and 5 lead ECG lead placement.
• Describe the ECG characteristics, possible causes, signs and symptoms and initial care for sinus, atrial, junctional, ventricular rhythms/dysrhythmias and Heart Block rhythms.
