Description | Many therapists are generally aware of mental health stressors from caregiving for an aging relative. A huge gap for appropriate treatment exits for parent caregivers. The population of parent caregivers often struggle with an increase of stressors that directly impact their own physical and mental health. Mental health vulnerability increases within the family while caring for a child with medical complexities and disabilities. In this 3- hour webinar, participants will discuss the common mental health needs of parent caregivers, the benefits of supporting the mental health needs of the whole family, and how to guide self-care in the treatment plan for overwhelmed clients. |
