DescriptionDespite increased awareness over the past several years and the launch of the original Surviving Sepsis Campaign, morbidity and mortality data suggests that sepsis-related deaths have continued to increase. Data also show that sepsis is not limited to hospitals and that sepsis-related illnesses are frequently occurring at home, long-term facilities, and other non-acute care settings. This program aims to discuss the recognition, the new definitions, updated protocols and treatment recommendations for managing and general care of the patient with severe sepsis.
