Description | Faith ministers are exposed to an increase in mental health issues in the community. This program will discuss the history of the church’s care for those with mental illness. Tools will be given to create a plan to transform or enhance the current environment of the faith community to an environment that is recognized as caring by those needing behavioral health services. |
Target Audience | Nurses, Counselors and Therapists, Social Workers (non social work credit) and any other healthcare professional with interest. |

Nurses: This nursing continuing education activity awards 2.0 contact hours upon successful completion.
Lowcountry AHEC is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the South Carolina Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
Counselors and Therapists: This program is approved for 2.0 hours of continuing education credit. The South Carolina AHEC system is recognized as a permanent sponsor of continuing education by the South Carolina Board of Examiners of Licensure of Professional Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists, and Psycho-Educational Specialists.
Social Workers: This program is approved for a total of 2.0 non social work contact hours. The South Carolina AHEC system is an approved provider of continuing education by the South Carolina Board of Social Work Examiners.
All Participants: This program is approved for 0.20 CEUs (2.0 clock hours) by Lowcountry AHEC and meets SC AHEC Best Practice Standards.
